White Grubs
Grubs are the offspring of various types of beetles such as Japanese Beetles, June Beetles and Chafers. In the larval stage, grubs are C-shaped and do a great deal of damage to lawns by feeding on the roots of your lawn. The start to feed when the weather gets warm and the grubs continue to feed until the cold weather forces them to dig about 8 inches deeper into the soil to overwinter. white grub

Once grubs begin to feed on the root, the grass will begin to die and the ground will start to feel spongy or soft. You will be able to roll up the lawn like a carpet. You will also notice brown patches developing on the lawn. If you have a heavily infested lawn you will see a slight yellow discoloration in areas. Another indication of the presence of grubs is skunks, crows, or moles feeding on your lawn.
